The Fairview Water District prepares an annual budget in accordance with Oregon Local Budget Law for a fiscal year that runs from July 1 through June 30. The budget outlines the District's expected revenues and expenditures for the upcoming fiscal year and helps ensure that funds are managed responsibly to support the operation, maintenance, and improvement of the District's water system.
The budget process includes review by the District's Budget Committee. Fairview Water District's Budget Committee is composed of the five members of the Board of Commissioners and an equal number of citizen members appointed by the Board. The Budget Committee reviews the proposed budget, receives public comment, and approves the budget before it moves forward to the Board of Commissioners for adoption.
